NEW – Advanced Definition of knock-out criteria

11/2011

Each criterion of a rating method in rms can be defined as so called knock- out criterion. If a knock-out criterion takes effect, the resulting change in the rating can be either absolute (definition of a target rating) or relative (definition of a gradual rating change).

Additionally in the rating method configuration it can be determined whether the change will either take an effect as an upgrade (improvement of the rating) or as a downgrade (impairment of the rating) or is potentially bidirectional.

Furthermore for each criterion of a rating method it can be defined whether the rating analyst is allowed to file a dissenting opinion when the criterion takes effect.

In addition different processing algorithms are available:

  • upgrade beats downgrade: if at least one upgrade criterion takes effect all downgrade criteria are being ignored
  • downgrade beats upgrade: if at least one downgrade criterion takes effect all upgrade criteria are being ignored
  • upgrade equals downgrade: upgrades and downgrades are evaluated equally.
